ABOUT TRIP
DAY 1
Safari starts
SIRIMON GATE MT KENYA ROUTE
- Leave Nairobi at 8.00 am and drive towards the central Kenya to mount Kenya national park via equator to Sirimon park gate [2676 meters]
- Acclimatization hike for 3-4 hours to old Moses camp [3300 meters] – which is ideal for the following days hike.
- We spend dinner and overnight in the camp.
NARO MORU GATE MT KENYA ROUTE
- Leave Nairobi at 09.00 am and drive to mountain Kenya area.
- Enter Narumoru Parkgate [1875 meters]
- After lunch acclimatize to met Met station camp [3030 meters].
CHOGORIA GATE MT KENYA ROUTE
- Leave Nairobi towards Meru
- Enter Chogoria township and drive to meru Mount kenya Bandas [2900meters].
- We eat dinner and spend the night in the camp.
DAY 2
Hiking Starts
SIRIMON GATE MT KENYA ROUTE
- After breakfast, hike the moorland via Mackinder’s valley to Shipton’s camp [4200 meters]
- Hiking takes 7- hours with Picnic and lunch en-route.
NARO MORU GATE MT KENYA ROUTE
- Immediately After breakfast hike the moorland through Teleki valley to Mackinder’s camp [4200 meters].
- Hiking takes 7-8 hours with picnic and lunch.
CHOGORIA GATE MT KENYA ROUTE
- After breakfast hike through the gorges to Minto’s hut [4200 meters].
- Here we do pinch tent.
- Hiking takes 8-9 hours.
DAY 3
Trip Ends
SIRIMON GATE MT KENYA ROUTE
- Pre-dawn [03.00 am] ascend the summit Lenana peak [4985 meters] to be there on or before sunrise.
- on a clear day, Mt.Kilimanjaro, Indian ocean among others are visible.
- Later descend via Shiptons camp for breakfast at Shiptons camp.
- Descend further to Sirimon park gate for transfer back to Nairobi.
NARUMORU ROUTE
- Predawn [03.00 am] ascend the summit peak Lenana[4985 meters] through the Lewis gracier ,Austrian hut.
- Descend via mackinders camp to Narumoru park gate.
- Transport back to Nairobi.
CHOGORIA GATE MT KENYA ROUTE
- Predawn [03.00 am] ascend the summit peak Lenana [4985 meters]
- Descend trough the gorges valley to Meru Mt. Kenya bandas
- Transport to Nairobi.
